Wheelchair Project
On June 25, 2010, the Red Cross of Canton Sarajevo received and stored 560 new wheelchairs at the Education and Recreation Center "Ušivak" in Hadžići
The wheelchairs are a donation from American Rotarians (Rotary District 7430 from Eastern Pennsylvania, Rotary Club Fremont from California, Rotary International, and the International Wheelchair Federation).
This donation worth 41,000 dollars is being implemented by the Red Cross of Canton Sarajevo in cooperation with Rotary Club Sarajevo and Rotary Clubs in Banja Luka and Mostar.
The wheelchairs were distributed to non-governmental organizations for people with disabilities and distributed to people with disabilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to a previously established distribution plan and signed Agreements (May 26, 2010). The project was successfully implemented and completed in the previous year (2010).
