Support to the Association

Support for the Association of People with Cerebral Palsy and Muscular Dystrophy in Goražde via workshop upgrades and an adapted vehicle, in partnership with District 1950 (RC Gera).

Support for the Association of Citizens with Cerebral Palsy and Muscular Dystrophy in Goražde.

The project is implemented by RC Sarajevo with District 1950 (Germany) at the initiative of RC Gera, planned for 2014–2016 with a total value of 114,076 USD. In the current year 15,646 KM were delivered to the Association in Goražde to adapt a workshop for people with special needs, and on 19.10.2014 a ceremonial opening was held with coordinator Bernard Koob, RC Sarajevo representatives, and guests.

Beyond the workshop renovation, an adapted Golf 6 vehicle for people with special needs was provided.

The project goal is to refurbish and equip the workshop for creative work, training, and employment of people with special needs through production of wooden toys, souvenirs, and similar products, ensuring livelihoods and inclusion in the local community.

RC Sarajevo is exploring further support by purchasing and distributing the workshop’s handmade items (gifts, souvenirs) and expanding sales channels including shopping centers and preschools.

As part of planned activities, on 19.10.2014 RC Sarajevo held a working meeting with partners from District 1950 (Bernard Koob, Thomas Wiegand), Association representatives (Mirsada Ćulov, Kemal Hodžić), and the Municipality of Goražde to continue equipping the workshop with woodworking machinery.
