Scholarship Fund for Promising Students from Partner High Schools (ongoing)
As part of its annual activities for the implementation of the New Generation Services program, Rotary Club Sarajevo (RCS) awards scholarships every year to promising students attending one of the partner high schools in Sarajevo: Second Gymnasium Sarajevo, Fourth Gymnasium Sarajevo, and Music High School Sarajevo.
Who is eligible for a scholarship?
Regularly enrolled exemplary students in grades II and III of partner high schools with an average grade of 4.0 or higher from previously completed grades are eligible for scholarships. They must be active in curricular and extracurricular activities through work in class communities, school clubs, and competitions, and constantly improve their abilities through sports, language learning, arts (music, fine arts, or drama), or volunteer work in the local community.
How are scholarships awarded and how much?
Scholarships are awarded once a year, for a period of 10 months of the school year (from September 1st of the current year to July 1st of the following year). The monthly scholarship amount is 100 KM.
How is the selection of scholarship recipients conducted?
Representatives of partner schools nominate a certain number of students who meet the stated general criteria for scholarship awards. Students who are recognized for their exemplary performance in their school environments receive instructions from school representatives on how they can apply. Registration and test taking (essay writing) are conducted within the specified time period through a web application posted on the RCS website. The RCS scholarship selection committee will make the final selection of a scholarship recipient from each partner school based on the candidate's overall success, test results, and interviews with qualified candidates. All students who apply will have the opportunity to receive additional information about club activities related to the New Generation Services program and to be invited to participate through various activities from this program.
When can results be expected?
Scholarship award results are published within 30 days after the expiration of the specified time period for submitting applications. Selected scholarship recipients begin receiving scholarships from September 1st of the current year.
