Opening of the Rotary Fountain in Sarajevo
RC Sarajevo marks Rotary's 100th anniversary by opening a fountain outside Centar Municipality on 25 Oct 2011.
On October 25, 2011 at 1 PM, Rotary Club Sarajevo will unveil a fountain in front of Centar Municipality to celebrate Rotary's centennial. Joining president Svjetlana Vukmirović will be municipal leaders, donors, and District 1910 governor Paul Jankowitsch. Designed by architect Elvedin Bečić, the fountain incorporates the Rotary wheel, highlighting the movement's humanitarian contributions.
RC Sarajevo—reestablished after a 65-year hiatus—has supported demining, flood relief in Pakistan, the Bjelave children's home, wheelchair deliveries, and more. This gift revives Sarajevo's fountain tradition while sharing Rotary values with the public.
